Underground Printing ( is a fast growing company that is is looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist! Located on Ann Arbor's west side, Underground Printing operates 55,000SF of screen-printing and embroidery production, servicing our 22 locations throughout the nation, as well as companies of all kinds!

Responsibilities of the position would include but are not limited to:

Recruiting/Talent Acquisition: Creating and updating job descriptions and postings to ensure they are in compliance with federal and state laws, set up interviews, phone screens, and interview applicants of all levels (entry-level to upper management) for the production facility, offices, and stores. Facilitate the onboarding of all new hires: conduct new-hire orientation, internal HRIS new-hire set up, etc.

Employee Relations/Development: Be the liasion between employees and upper management regarding company policies and procedures. Collaborate with managers to coordinate and conduct employee reviews, manage the employee wage scale, manage personnel issues, etc.

Compliance/Benefits Management: Overseeing OSHA training/compliance, serve as the HR representative of the Health & Safety Committee, manage FMLA requests, unemployment claims, workers' compensation claims, third-party compliance, oversee the company's group insurance plans, work with CEO on annual plan renewal, be able to clearly present benefits information to all employees, etc.

Payroll Analysis/Time-Keeping Management: Accurate company-wide hours reporting and data analysis, troubleshooting time clock errors/issues, and bi-weekly payroll reporting.

General Administrative Coordination: Assisting the Human Resources department with paperwork and filing needs, maintaining record systems, scheduling and managing appointments and calendars, maintain systematic follow-up to ensure that deadlines are met and that information of material required from other departments is received on a timely basis, coordinate and book travel arrangements, provide comprehensive administrative support and coordinate the flow of communication and information within the office and perform general office duties as assigned.

The ideal HR Generalist will be computer savvy and adapt easily to new tasks and responsibilities, while taking initiative and exercising considerable discretion. They must also demonstrate organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, possess the ability to manage workload under time constraints and conflicting demands, and show excellent attention to detail. Extensive experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, Public Speaking and Event Coordinating is strongly preferred.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year university.

This position takes place in an office. However, applicants must also be fine with being in a manufacturing/production environment.
